My mother recently passed away at age 90 and we needed to find a new home for her belongings of any significance. She might have lived in a retirement facility, but still owned 5 rooms of furnishings in a 2 1/2 room apartment.....not to mention enough blouses, pants, sweaters, jackets and shoes to suit an army. What to do?
My wife and I decided to donate the furniture to Habitat To Humanity and clothing to Goodwill. But how to get things to their destination? The local non-profits in Santa Maria were relatively small and didn't have free pick-up service, so I researched Yelp and decided to try a place with very good review...It's All Good. Turns out the name is most appropriate.
I spoke to Jared, the owner on a Wednesday and arranged for service the following Friday morning. Jared and an assistant arrived on time with one truck connected to another and an assortment of moving equipment.
They carefully, yet quickly, took everything meant for Habitat down a flight of stairs and nearby elevator to their trucks. Any time I asked them for help, the answer was "no problem". I intended to take the boxes of clothing and dishes to Goodwill myself, but Jared volunteered to make a separate trip after Habitat, so we went back to the apartment, brought the remaining items to the trucks and drove off to Goodwill. I went home, but Jared still had a few things, like a mattress and bed frame, to haul and dispose of.
Overall, Jared and "It's All Good" met the criteria to earn 5 stars, including:
- Flexibility with the calendar
- Arrived on time
- Explained what needed to be done before doing it
- Completed the work with a minimum of fuss and delay
- No harm to the property
- Volunteered for some extra work
- Nice guys
- Charged a reasonable price of $450 (I gave them $500 because of the side trip to Goodwill)
Based on our first experience with "It's All Good", we'd heartily recommend them for this type of work. And based on their website, Jared and company do a lot more than moving belongings and hauling things not needed to the dump." - R.N.
